Job description
Payroll SpecialistThe Payroll Specialist will be responsible for all payroll-related tasks, particularly those involving pulling fitness spreadsheets for upload into the payroll vendor system and other responsibilities associated with semi-monthly payroll submission.Processing all assigned accounts/tasks associated with a multi-state, multi-organization payroll, including being the Point of Contact (POC) for all tax accounts, payments, and new CLUB set-up with the established payroll vendorAct as lead in review of all changes that impact each payrollGenerate reports detailing status of payroll concernsThe Payroll Specialist reports directly to the Accounting Director but works somewhat in partnership with the CLUB4 Fitness CEO and all external resources established in support of the business and the accounting department.Understand expense accounts and cost centersDemonstrates attention to detail, precision, time management, organization, as well as Excel and related financial-based computer systems proficiencyPositive attitude and team approach to accomplishing given objectivesUnderstanding of accounting principles and fundamentalsAbility to work in a dynamic environment requiring flexibility and strong work ethicProficiency in Microsoft Office platforms such as Word and ExcelKnowledge of NetSuite is a plusProven working experience as a payroll processing specialist for a complex payrollProven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial recordsData entry skills along with a knack for numbersHands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary softwareProficiency in English and in MS OfficeHigh degree of accuracy and attention to detailAssociate degree in Accounting or higher preferred, however, demonstrated years of successful experience may be considered as alternative to the formal educationAssociate's degree, or two (2) years or more of full-time college coursework equivalent required; or equivalent related work experience required3+ Years of Payroll experience; corporate experience is a plusExperience supporting multiple entities under separate EIN is preferredAbility to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficientlyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsComfortable in a team-player roleComputer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
