Payroll Specialist
Location: Phoenix, AZ 85016
Setting: 100% On Site
Hours: Full Time
Pay: $30 - $36/hour (OT available)
Join a welcoming, collaborative payroll team supporting a large, multi-company organization with 10,000+ employees. This role is ideal for a payroll professional who is detail-oriented, reliable, and enjoys problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Process full-cycle weekly payroll for assigned employee groups (500-1,000+ employees)
Ensure accurate and timely payroll, including off-cycle payments
Review timekeeping data, resolve discrepancies, and support payroll audits/reconciliations
Process new hires, employee changes, special pay requests, garnishments, and final pay
Partner closely with HR and managers to ensure data accuracy and compliance
Research and resolve payroll questions while delivering excellent customer service
Ensure compliance with multi-state payroll regulations, overtime laws, and company policies
Qualifications 3-5 years of full-cycle payroll experience
Experience processing multi-state payroll required
Strong understanding of payroll regulations, including OT laws
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables)
Experience with ADP Workforce Now or Paycom strongly preferred
Union payroll/reporting experience is a plus
Demonstrated critical thinking, attention to detail, and process improvement mindset
Ability to communicate successes and examples of improving payroll processes
