Job description
Commonwealth Payroll is a fast growing payroll and HR company located in Virginia Beach, VA and they are recruiting for a new Payroll Specialist or Senior Payroll Specialist. This is a newly created position due to growth and a great opportunity to be mentored by an experienced manager. This is an in-office position based in Virginia Beach.

Responsibilities
Work with clients to create and process their payrolls accurately and timely
Respond to customer support tickets and resolve payroll related questions and issues
Leverage an understanding of federal and state taxes, insurance policies, employee benefits, PTO, and accruals to support clients as needed
Run and review payroll reports prior to processing to ensure payrolls and taxes are correct and on an ad hoc basis as needed
Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll
Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
Assist with accurate and timely year‑end reporting when necessary (W2s, 1095s, 1099s etc.)
Qualifications
4+ years of payroll processing experience
FPC or CPP is preferred
A Bachelor's Degree preferred
Must be a team player and be able to meet tight deadlines
High level of detail‑orientation, time management, and organizational skills
Strong written and oral communication skills.
