Job description
This is a benefit-eligible, full-time position (72 hours every two weeks), working 12-hour night shifts (6:30pm - 7:00am) on various days and located at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas in the Medical Acute 2 South unit.

n nThe ideal candidate will be someone who is self-motivated and committed to providing exceptional patient care. In this role you will be assisting patients with their activities of daily living, performing vital signs, and performing EKGs. This 32 bed unit hosts primarily a patient population of medical, telemetry, and stroke patients. We are looking for someone who is looking to can work efficiently and collaborate as a team.
nThe general duties of the Patient Care Assistant include:
nnProvides excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care team
nAssists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and ensures the patient has a safe, organized environment
nAssists with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician
nSupports the unit with a variety of patient logistic, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation duties

nRequired Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
nnnOne year of recent experience working under the license of an licensed healthcare provider OR current enrollment or completion of Nursing Assistant training from a recognized school OR current enrollment in an RN program with completion of the second semester, including nursing fundamentals

nnMust be able to speak, read and follow instruction in English
n
nnExcellent interpersonal skills with a service aptitude

nnAmerican Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Provider
n
nnPreferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certifications:* :
nnCNA certification
nMultiple patient care skills preferred
nPreferred one-year acute care experience
