nNorth 6 is a dynamic acute care surgical unit dedicated to delivering high‑quality, compassionate, and patient‑centered care. The unit specializes in colorectal and bariatric sleeve procedures while also caring for patients with complex medical diagnoses, requiring skilled clinical judgment and strong interdisciplinary collaboration.
nAs a recognized Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery, North 6 demonstrates a strong commitment to exceptional patient outcomes, safety, and evidence‑based practice. The team takes pride in supporting patients through all phases of recovery by emphasizing education, early mobility, pain management, and individualized care planning.
nNorth 6 maintains a close partnership with the Physician Surgical Residency Program, fostering a culture of learning, innovation, and professional development. nResponsibilities
nnnPCTs will perform patient care and treatments under supervision of a RN. Provides and documents care including, but not limited to, activities of daily living, mobility, specimen collection and respiratory support activities as directed by the RN.
n
nnPossess the ability to lift, move, position and transport patients.
n
nnDemonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.
n
nnDemonstrates initiative to improve quality of care, patient and employee safety, and customer service.
n
nnTeam members under the age of 18 may not independently operate mechanical lift equipment.
n
n nQualifications
nLicense(s)/Certification(s):
nnnCNA certification preferred
n
nnMust possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.
n
n nOther:
nnnMust be 16 years old or older
n
nnLevel 3 Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently , and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
