Job description
Pediatric Unit Manager (RN)Ditmas Children's Nursing & Rehab is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatric Unit Manager (RN) to lead and support our nursing team while delivering high-quality, individualized care to our pediatric residents.The Unit Manager is responsible for promoting and restoring patients' health through the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, and providing physical and emotional support to patients and their families. This role reports directly to the Clinical Manager of the assigned department.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and manage daily nursing activities within the assigned unitDeliver direct patient care as neededAdminister medications and intravenous fluids as ordered by physiciansProvide wound care and other prescribed treatmentsMonitor and document vital signs, symptoms, and patient responses to treatmentOperate oxygen equipment, spirometers, and other diagnostic toolsInterpret patient information and assist in clinical decision-makingCollaborate with physicians and supervisors to determine appropriate treatment plansSupervise and support Nurses, Nurse Assistants, and Nurse AidesEnsure compliance with established nursing standards, policies, and regulationsRequirementsEducation:Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferredAssociate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with relevant experience may be consideredLicensure:Current New York State RN license (required)Experience & Skills:Previous long-term care experience preferredStrong clinical judgment and investigative skillsAbility to work independently and provide leadershipExcellent written and verbal communication skillsScheduleFull-Time8-hour shiftsEvening Shift: 3:30 PM – 11:00 PMNight Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AMMonday through Friday with every other weekendCompensation & BenefitsCompensation:$60 – $71 per hour (competitive, based on experience)Benefits Include:401(k)Health insuranceDental insuranceVision insurancePaid time offIf you are a compassionate and skilled Pediatric RN leader seeking an enriching opportunity to make a meaningful impact, we encourage you to apply.
