Hematology/Oncology Physician Locum Tenens Job in Martinsville, Virginia Join a welcoming hematology and oncology practice in Martinsville, VA, in Virginia's scenic Piedmont region near the Blue Ridge Mountains. This locum tenens physician opportunity offers a supportive clinical environment, a collaborative oncology care team, and the chance to provide meaningful care to an established patient population.
Job Details Position Type: Locum tenens, on-site physician coverage Specialty: Hematology/Oncology Location: Martinsville, Virginia Start Date: September 8, 2026 End Date: October 30, 2026 Estimated Weekly Pay: $6,160 - $7,290 Schedule: 4 shifts per week Shift Length: 8 - 10 hours per day, depending on patient volume Patient Volume: Approximately 12 - 15 patients per day Call: Light beeper call for established patients, approximately 2 - 5 calls per week Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 60 days Setting: Oncology center with an established provider team Job Requirements Board certified or board certification eligible in Hematology/Oncology Minimum of 1 year of relevant hematology and oncology experience preferred Fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology Active physician license eligible for assignment in Virginia Current ACLS, BLS, and ABLS certifications Comfort managing moderate patient volume in a collaborative oncology setting Responsibilities Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care to established and new patients Evaluate and manage approximately 12 - 15 patients per shift Participate in light call coverage for established patients Work closely with an experienced clinical team to support continuity of care Deliver high-quality, patient-centered treatment in an outpatient oncology environment Support a practice that values long-term continuity and strong patient relationships Apply now to learn more about this Hematology/Oncology locum tenens physician job in Martinsville, Virginia.
