Job description
Overview
Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children is seeking two full‑time BC/BE pediatric hospitalists to join our team. Our team consists of 9 hospitalists and 11 nurse practitioners and is supported by excellent pediatric sub‑specialists.
The hospital is a stand‑alone facility dedicated to caring for women, infants, children, and adolescents. It is the only facility in the region with a 16‑bed Pediatric ER, an 11‑bed PICU, and a 40‑bed Pediatric Inpatient Unit, and hosts a St. Jude Children's Research Hospital clinic for pediatric hematology/oncology.
Responsibilities
Primary management of patients on the pediatric floor, covering an average daily census of 25–30 patients.
Consulting and collaborating with pediatric sub‑specialists.
Caring for newborns in the well‑baby nursery (no delivery attendance required).
Teaching family medicine residents and medical students from the University of Alabama—Birmingham.
Qualifications
BC/BE in Pediatrics.
Eligibility for medical licensure in Alabama.
Full‑time commitment of approximately 14 shifts per month.
