Job description
Position Summary
nThe Hospitalist with Granville Health System in Oxford, NC, is responsible for examining and treating patients independently within their scope of practice and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Granville Health System is a rural, county-based, 62-bed hospital 40-miles North of Raleigh.
nThis role ensures proper illness and injury care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. The Hospitalist relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and performs a variety of tasks. The role involves providing direct inpatient care to pediatric patients.
nnnProvide direct inpatient care to pediatric patients.
n
nnResponsible for providing episodic and chronic care, as well as screening and educational assistance to patients.
n
nnConduct inpatient and outpatient consultations in internal medicine.
n
nnProvide quality care to patients by following the most current evidence-based guidelines and procedures of practice.
n
nnAdhere to all institutional policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
n
nnTake part in quality assurance audits, including continuing education, and peer review.
n
nnRecognize the diversity of the patient population and treat all warmly and kindly.
n
nnKnowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding.
n
nnSufficient clinical knowledge and experience to provide clinical competence and meet institutional standards of care.
n
nnInterpersonal skills to deal harmoniously with staff, patients, and family members.
n
nnDemonstrated ability to meet the responsibilities of the position.

n nMD Qualifications:
nnnCurrent and valid North Carolina physician licensure
n
nnCompletion of an accredited Internal or Family Medicine residency program.
n
nnBC/BE in specialty
n
nnThe successful candidate will be approachable, flexible and organized. The individual can be Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Medicine/Pediatrics.
