Pediatrix Hospitalist Medical Director Opportunity
Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Board-Certified Pediatric Hospitalist with strong leadership experience to serve as Medical Director at Winchester Medical Center. This role combines direct patient care with clinical and operational leadership, allowing you to shape and grow a high-quality pediatric service line.
Position Overview
As Medical Director you will provide clinical and operational leadership for the pediatric hospitalist program while collaborating with hospital administration, nursing leadership, and subspecialty partners.
Clinical Responsibilities
Provide care on a 17-bed pediatric floor and in the newborn nursery supporting approximately 2400 annual deliveries Pediatric Floor ADC: 5
Newborn Nursery ADC: 15
Daytime support from Advanced Practice Providers
Block scheduling for optimal work‑life balance
Daytime rounding and out‑of‑house call (30-minute response time)
Collaborate with a network of pediatric subspecialists onsite and via telehealth University of Virginia

Opportunity to teach and mentor Family Medicine Residents
Partner with Pediatrix NICU providers to ensure continuity of care across services
Medical Director Responsibilities
Provide strategic and operational oversight of the pediatric hospitalist program
Lead quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and clinical standardization
Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of hospitalists and advanced practice providers
Collaborate with hospital leadership on program growth, performance metrics, and service line development
Foster a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, and patient‑centered care
Serve as a key liaison between Pediatrix and Winchester Medical Center leadership
