Job description

Pediatric Neurohospitalist

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital – St. Petersburg, Florida

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH) in St. Petersburg, Florida is recruiting child neurologists, with special emphasis on inpatient care, for our rapidly expanding Child Neurology Program. The neuro-hospitalists are joined by advanced practice providers, adult and child neurology residents and pediatric residents. Inpatient care is divided into daytime and nighttime shifts, 2 weeks per month and 1 week a month is reserved for time off or research.

The ideal candidate is comfortable with reviewing EEGs, with formal reports being performed by clinical neurophysiologists and epileptologists. Candidates with subspecialty training in neuro‑critical care and stroke are encouraged to apply.

The Neurohospitalist service provides integrated care on the pediatric general floors, PICU, CVICU, and NICU units. JHACH is a 259‑bed teaching hospital, just ranked by U.S. News & World Report (2025‑2026) in 8 pediatric specialties including neurology and neurosurgery (#22 nationally). We are also ranked as the #1 Children’s Hospital in Florida for the third consecutive year and the #4 Best Children’s Hospital in the Southeast.

The Neurology department presently consists of 10 members with expertise in epilepsy, neuromuscular, headache, neurocutaneous, neuro‑oncology, and hospital care. As members of the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Institute for Brain Protection Sciences, our Child Neurology teams draw upon the expertise of specialists in neurosurgery, neuroimaging, neuro‑oncology, neuropsychology and neuropathology. Members of the faculty participate in the education of neurology, neurosurgery and pediatrics residents and fellows. The Johns Hopkins All Children’s Child Neurology Residency Program is an innovative five‑year, ACGME‑accredited program, designed to train the next generation of pediatric neurologists.

Salary is highly market competitive. Qualified candidates are eligible for an academic appointment at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (academic rank is open and commensurate with experience). An interest in research would be strongly supported.

Tampa‑St. Petersburg offers year‑round sunshine, abundant cultural and recreational activities, sports venues, and excellent schools. We are centrally located to many of Florida’s amenities, minutes from the beautiful Gulf beaches, 90 miles from Orlando and 4 hours from Miami.
