Job description

Posting Note: Phoenix Children’s is actively recruiting a full-time Pediatric Neuropsychologist to join our thriving and collaborative Division of Neuropsychology. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a nationally recognized pediatric healthcare system that is consistently ranked among the best children’s hospitals in the country by U.S. News & World Report. Our institution is home to one of the largest pediatric neurosciences programs in the U.S., with one of the top five highest clinical volumes nationwide.

About the Role

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide outpatient neuropsychological evaluation and consultation for children and adolescents with a wide range of medical, neurological, and neurodevelopmental conditions affecting the central nervous system (CNS). You’ll be joining a team of eight skilled pediatric neuropsychologists and working closely with interdisciplinary teams across various specialty areas.

This role offers the opportunity to practice within a robust pediatric medical setting where your work will directly inform diagnosis, guide treatment planning, and support long‑term management for patients with complex medical needs. Clinical referrals commonly originate from services including:

Neurology

Neurosurgery

Oncology & Hematology

Cardiology

Metabolic & Genetic Disorders

Concussion & Sports Medicine

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive, developmentally appropriate neuropsychological assessments for children and adolescents with CNS‑related conditions.

Provide meaningful clinical feedback and consultation to families and medical teams regarding diagnosis, cognitive functioning, educational planning, and treatment recommendations.

Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, whole-child care.

Supervise and mentor trainees including graduate students, interns, postdoctoral fellows, and medical residents, as part of Phoenix Children’s educational mission.

Participate in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives aligned with your interests and institutional priorities.

Engage in academic activities, with faculty appointment opportunities through the University of Arizona College of Medicine and potential affiliations with Mayo Clinic, Creighton University, and Midwestern University.

Qualifications

Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) from an APA‑ or CPA‑accredited program in clinical psychology or a related field with formal training in neuropsychology.

Completion of an APA‑ or CPA‑accredited internship.

Completion of a 2‑year postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology.

Licensed in the State of Arizona prior to the start date.

Board certification (or actively pursuing board certification) in Clinical Neuropsychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).

Demonstrated expertise in pediatric neuropsychological assessment within a medical setting.

Strong clinical, interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.

Bilingual Spanish/English proficiency is strongly preferred due to the diverse patient population served.

Why Join Phoenix Children’s

Be part of a nationally ranked children’s health system with world-class subspecialty programs and a commitment to innovation and excellence.

Work in a vibrant, growing Neuropsychology division with opportunities to shape and expand clinical programs.

Enjoy academic and research opportunities within a leading pediatric health system.

Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including relocation assistance and continuing education support.

Live and work in Phoenix, a dynamic city offering sunny weather year-round, affordable cost of living, and access to world-class outdoor activities and cultural events.
