Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living • Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Level IV NICU experience required. Must be competent in the use of both the Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Cardiac PICU experience preferred. Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Required Credentials: Any hit on your license must be disclosed. Hits will be sent to UVA leadership for approval prior to proceeding.

Special Requests: Assignment length may vary: 13 or 26 weeks. Travelers are not eligible to return after reaching 365 total assignment days, regardless of time away.

Unit Details: Neonatal, infant, pediatric, and adolescent patient population. Children’s Hospital setting with a pediatric emergency department, Level IV NICU, and PICU for patients younger than 18. Complex congenital heart program caring for patients with congenital cardiac defects, including transplants and ECMO. RTs care for patients in the NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, and acute care pediatrics.

Shift & Scheduling: Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week. Every other weekend. Every other holiday. Must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays. Self-scheduling model; desired schedules are not guaranteed, but accommodations will be attempted.

Floating Requirements: Required to work in all units of the Children’s Hospital.

3 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program – 8th Edition)

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

• RRT-ACCS (Adult Critical Care Specialty)
