Job description
Overview
Valley Children’s Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified Pediatric Surgeon to join their expanding team. The physician will establish and build a new pediatric surgery service at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital, located about two hours from Valley Children’s Hospital and LAX.
With brand-new Pediatric Surgical Suites scheduled to open in winter 2025, the Lauren Small Children’s Center at Memorial Hospital will ensure that pediatric specialty care is delivered to children in and around Kern County.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join Valley Children’s team of nine pediatric surgeons who perform more than 3,700 general surgeries per year across more than 200 surgical procedures, ranging from routine to complex cases.
Responsibilities
Establish and build a new pediatric surgery service at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital.
Collaborate with Valley Children’s existing pediatric surgery team to deliver high-quality surgical care for children in the region.
Contribute to a wide range of general pediatric surgeries and complex procedures as part of an expanding program.
Qualifications
Board-Certified Pediatric Surgeon with eligibility to practice in the state.
About the Institutions
The Lauren Small Children’s Center at Memorial Hospital is the only comprehensive pediatric program in Bakersfield and Kern County and includes facilities such as the Robert A. Grimm Children’s Pavilion for Emergency Services, a Level II NICU, a PICU, and a Pediatric Unit with in-house pediatric hospitalists.
