What You'll Do
As a Peer Support Specialist, you will provide recovery-focused peer support services to individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges. Drawing from your lived experience, you will help individuals build hope, resilience, independence, and meaningful connections within their communities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide peer support services to individuals with mental health and/or substance use conditions.
Utilize lived experience to promote recovery, resilience, hope, and self-determination.
Assist individuals in developing coping skills, wellness strategies, and recovery goals.
Facilitate peer-led recovery groups and support activities.
Support individuals in achieving goals related to housing, employment, education, and community integration.
Assist in the development and implementation of person-centered treatment and recovery plans.
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.
Advocate for individuals receiving services and support self-advocacy efforts.
Help individuals prepare for treatment and recovery planning meetings.
Promote recovery-oriented practices and peer support principles among team members.
Engage individuals through outreach, relationship building, and ongoing support.
Provide crisis intervention and support services as assigned.
Assist with assessments, wellness plans, and other recovery-related documentation.
Support the development of natural supports and community resources.
Encourage independence, personal growth, and self-determination.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
Complete timesheets and required records accurately.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required
Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) certification.
CPR and First Aid certification.
Experience supporting individuals with mental health, substance use, or co-occurring disorders.
Valid driver's license with a minimum of three years of continuous driving experience and a satisfactory driving record.
Preferred
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience working with underserved populations.
Schedule
Full-Time
Schedule based on program needs
Flexibility to support individuals and participate in team activities as required
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed.
Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
