Job description
Provide clinical pharmacy support in a hospital setting with a focus on inpatient care for a high-acuity patient population. This per diem role requires consistent PRN coverage 3-4 times per week, including weekday and weekend shifts. The schedule is designed to collaborate closely with a small, dedicated team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
Schedule:
Weekday shifts: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Weekend shifts: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Flexible scheduling with the pharmacist team
Preferred on-call availability for 24/7 coverage support whenever possible
Key Responsibilities: Manage general inpatient pharmacy staffing duties
Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
Provide oversight and support for pharmacy technicians
Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient care
Deliver clinical pharmacy support tailored to patient needs
Qualifications: Active pharmacist license required
Previous hospital experience preferred
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule including PRN and on-call responsibilities
Strong collaborative approach with a team-oriented mindset
Systems and Automation: Utilize WellSky pharmacy system
Work with Pyxis automation technology
