Per Diem Occupational Therapy Assistant COTA

Location: Chelsea, MI
Compensation: $32.56 - $36.40 / hour
Description
Schedule : Three (3) shifts per calendar month | Regularly covering weekend shifts is expected | Two (2) holidays per year.
Department : Kresge Health & Rehab Center | Memory Care, Assisted Living, and Independent Living | Chelsea Retirement Community | Chelsea, MI
What You'll Do in This Role:

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) assists in providing rehabilitative services to the elderly with mental, physical, emotional, or developmental impairments.
Key Responsibilities
Works under the direction of occupational therapists to plan, implement, or administer programs that restore or enhance performance in individuals with functional impairments.
Monitors patients' performance in therapy activities and provides encouragement.
Assists in instructing patients and families in home programs, basic living skills, or the care and use of adaptive equipment.
Observes and records patients' progress, attitudes, and behavior and maintains this information in client records.
Reports to supervisors on patients' progress, attitudes, and behavior.
Performs clerical duties.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Graduate of an accredited Therapy program
1 -2 years of related experience
Current Occupational Therapy Assistant state license
Excellent verbal and written communication
Position requires the ability to lift and move objects, weighting up to 35 pounds without assistance
