Job description
This opportunity is for a Per Diem Pharmacist position supporting a nursing home facility serving 50 residents. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, covering vacation dates on the 6th, 7th, 8th, 10th, and 11th. This role provides essential pharmacy services including prescription verification using the PointClickCare system.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify and accurately process prescriptions to ensure patient safety
Collaborate with a pharmacy technician team to manage medication distribution
Utilize the PointClickCare computer system for documentation and prescription management
Support the care team within a nursing home environment to meet resident needs
Qualifications: Active and clear Virginia pharmacist license
Minimum of 1 year recent pharmacy experience, preferably in a long-term care or similar setting
Strong attention to detail and understanding of medication safety protocols
Effective communication skills to work within a multidisciplinary team
Facility Details: Nursing home setting with approximately 50 residents
Pharmacy technician support in place to assist with daily operations
