Job description
A leading healthcare facility in Petaluma, CA is seeking a skilled Staff Pharmacist for per diem coverage over a four-week period starting immediately. This role focuses on providing exceptional pharmacy services within a retail setting, ensuring safe and accurate dispensing of medications to support patient care.
Responsibilities include:
Dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
Counseling patients on medication usage, side effects, and interactions
Maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations
Collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient treatment plans
Managing inventory and ensuring proper storage of pharmaceuticals
Utilizing pharmacy systems to document and verify prescriptions
Qualifications: Valid pharmacist license in the state of California
Previous experience as a retail or staff pharmacist with expertise in prescription processing
Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and maintain attention to detail under pressure
