Job description
This per diem pharmacy position offers the opportunity to provide specialized care to a sensitive patient population in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area. Coverage will primarily support a pharmacy located in Plantation, with the possibility to provide per diem services at another nearby pharmacy, allowing for flexible scheduling.
Schedule:
Thursday, 7/30, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
Regular operation hours: Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM; Friday, 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM (no weekends)
Key responsibilities include dispensing medication to patients with HIV/AIDS, delivering respectful and empathetic support, and building trust between pharmacist and patient. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional patient care, teamwork, and communication skills, particularly in engaging with providers and addressing pharmacy operational needs proactively. A non-judgmental approach with sensitivity to the unique challenges faced by this patient population is essential.
Qualifications and Desired Experience: 1 to 2 years minimum experience in retail or specialty HIV/AIDS pharmacy dispensing
Proficiency with QS1 pharmacy software or similar platforms
Strong communication skills with patients and healthcare providers
Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and commitment to scheduled shifts
Ability to anticipate and address pharmacy operational needs with pharmacy intuition
Positive attitude and a collaborative mindset
Respectful and empathetic when working with infectious disease patients, ensuring a trusting and supportive environment
