Job description
This per diem opportunity is seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist to support a busy retail pharmacy with a prescription volume averaging 60-70 prescriptions daily. Operating Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM and Saturdays from 10 AM to 2 PM, this role provides flexibility with a PRN schedule. The setting features a small but efficient team consisting of one pharmacist and one technician, allowing for close collaboration and a focused work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately dispense prescriptions while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety guidelines
Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and interactions
Collaborate effectively with the pharmacy technician and other healthcare providers to manage prescription flow and patient needs
Maintain meticulous records and support inventory management
Utilize pharmacy system software; familiarity with Datascan is a plus but not required
Qualifications and Desired Experience: Valid California Pharmacist License is mandatory
Some prior pharmacy experience preferred to manage daily workflow confidently
Strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently and within a small team setting
Commitment to providing excellent patient care and safety
