Job description
A relief pharmacist position is available in a small, welcoming community hospital located near the WA/OR border. This 25-bed critical access hospital provides essential healthcare services in a close-knit environment, offering an excellent opportunity to apply and grow your hospital pharmacy skills.
Responsibilities include providing comprehensive pharmacy services during daytime shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., collaborating with pharmacy technicians who provide support during these hours. You will ensure the safe and effective dispensing of medications, participate in clinical activities, and utilize IT systems such as Cerner and Pyxis to manage medication orders and inventory. There is no on-call requirement for this role.
The schedule includes initial training days followed by coverage on selected dates in July, August, and Fridays throughout September. This schedule is ideal for those seeking per diem work with flexibility.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Minimum 1 year of recent hospital pharmacy experience
Familiarity with Cerner and Pyxis systems preferred
Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with healthcare teams
Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Location: Small town near the Washington/Oregon border
