nAllegria Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Port Jefferson is a long-term care and skilled nursing facility committed to delivering exceptional care to our residents. We pride ourselves on our team-focused environment, where every CNA plays a key role in improving the quality of life for those we serve. We are currently seeking Per Diem Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our care team in providing compassionate care and assistance to our residents
nThe CNA will be responsible for various duties, such as performing basic nursing tasks, assisting in personal hygiene and grooming, administering medications as ordered by the physician, and measuring vital signs. The CNA will also be required to maintain all medical records in accordance with facility procedures and state laws.
n** AS A PER DIEM EMPLOYEE, YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR BENEFITS. YOU MUST WORK 1 SHIFT A WEEK, NOTHING MORE. IN TOTAL, THIS WILL BE 4 SHIFTS ON A MONTHLY BASIS. **
nResponsibilities:
nnAssist patient(s) with daily activities, such as feeding, dressing, bathing, etc.
nAdminister medication and monitor patient reactions per physician's order
nMeasure vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate
nProvide emotional support to patient(s) and their families
nObserve and report any changes in patients’ physical or mental conditions
nMaintain cleanliness and organization of the patient's environment
nFollow care plan meeting patient's physiological and psychosocial conditions
nParticipate in interdisciplinary team meetings, providing insights on residents’ conditions
n nRequirements/Qualifications:
nnActive CNA license in New York State (Required)
nPrior experience in a nursing home or long-term care setting preferred
nDependable, punctual, and professional
nAbility to work independently and as part of a dynamic team
nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills
nAbility to handle a demanding work environment, with changing priorities
nAbility to lift, push, pull, or move residents up to 50 pounds
