Permit CoordinatorInterplan is a commercial architectural and engineering firm with over 50 years of experience specializing in restaurant and retail design for large nationwide clients. With offices in Orlando and Chicago, our Orlando office is expanding, and we are seeking a talented Permit Coordinator to join our team!ResponsibilitiesAssist in preparing submittal packages for various projectsMake necessary initial or follow-up calls to municipalities as directedEffective communication with all parties involved in the project (in house, outside consultants)Assist office personnel with code researchUnderstand the scope of work and its overall relationship to permitting/approvalsContact governing agencies and discuss projects for preparation of feasibility reports, remodel reports and limited scope of work project reportsPrepare transmittals, e-mails and fax correspondence as directed by department Projects Coordinator or Projects ManagerPrepare comment/response letters for resubmittal and coordinate the responses with the architectural/civil project managerAssist the Permit Lead and Permit Manager in assembling contractor notification packagesAssist as directed in all other permitting related activities for which the Department is responsibleWork effectively with various Project Management stylesFollow up as needed in a timely manner on all issues that arise for a particular projectQualifications & Prior ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GEDPrevious permitting experience a PLUS but not required: relevant customer service experience will be consideredMinimal knowledge of basic site development procedures, blueprint reading, mathematical skills, and map reading a PlusA high level of organizational skills requiredKnowledge of Microsoft WordMust have a current valid Driver's LicenseMust be able to travelCompensation & BenefitsOpen and collaborative work environmentContinuing Education and Professional DevelopmentActive employee lead activities committeeMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceShort Term Disability and employer-paid Long Term Disability and Life InsuranceFlex Spending and Dependent Care AccountsEmployee Assistance ProgramHealth and Wellness ProgramPaid HolidaysPaid Time Off (PTO)401k with Employer Match, Financial Advisor for employees on ongoing Financial Wellness EducationPerformance-based Bonus ProgramJoin our team at Interplan and contribute to creating spaces that celebrate Humanity!
