This role helps ensure compliance with municipal codes and supports successful sign installations by facilitating the permitting process from start to finish.A Day in the LifeAs a Permit Specialist I, your day includes reviewing local sign ordinances, preparing basic permit applications, and submitting them to city or county offices. You'll support account executives with code guidance and attend public meetings when necessary. You'll also track permit statuses and update internal teams as jobs progress, helping to keep projects on schedule and within code requirements.Duties and ResponsibilitiesResearch municipal sign ordinances to determine signage allowances by locationPrepare, submit, and track standard sign permit applicationsCommunicate with municipal planners and permitting staff to resolve basic code-related questionsAssist in preparing conditional use, variance, or zoning applications when requiredPost approved permits and permit fees to internal job recordsAttend planning or zoning hearings as necessary for simple permitsProvide general permitting support to sales and design teamsMaintain digital and physical records of permit documentsParticipate in training and development on code interpretation and permitting processesRequirements and QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredAt least 6 months of relevant permitting, clerical, or municipal experience preferredStrong written and verbal communication skillsFamiliarity with local government processes is a plusProficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Office systemsAbility to interpret basic municipal codes and write concise application materialsStrong organizational and time management skillsCOMPLIANCE STATEMENTYESCO is committed to maintaining a drug-free workplace.
