nJob Summary

nBe a problem solver, trusted advisor, and partner to the people and businesses in our KeyBank communities. Personal Bankers engage clients in deeper conversations to uncover needs and provide guidance and solutions to assist in client's financial wellness both in person and through proactive calling efforts. As part of the branch team, the Personal Banker will work toward attracting new clients to Key and work with existing clients to develop and expand relationships based on their unique financial goals, leading to client confidence in their finances. The Personal Banker is a client first, sales-driven, self-motivated, and competitive individual. Strong and effective teamwork, paired with communication polish and confidence, are critical for this role. nEssential Functions

nnnEmbodies a strong client experience culture, being present with every client and teammate and realizing the impact we can have on their day, personally, professionally, and financially.

nnListen for clues for financial wellness opportunities during in-person and over the phone client conversations and provide effective and customized financial wellness recommendations to clients.

n

nnConsistently attains individual activity, behavior, and outcome goals and expectations.

n

nnOpening personal and business accounts (consumer checking, small business, various deposit products, home equity, unsecured lending, certificates of deposit, etc.).

n

nnDeveloping strong partnerships with branch teammates and line of business partners – focusing on client acquisition and deepening the relationship of current clients; effectively managing internal and external centers of influence.

n

nnEnsuring compliance with operational, risk, security and audit procedures and policies including appropriate documentation of client interactions.

n

nnSupport of branch operations including assisting with client transactions on the Teller line as needed.

n

nnParticipate in and occasionally facilitate in-person morning huddles and end of day debriefs.

n

nnWork on Saturdays as directed by management.

n

nnPerforms other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice

nnComplies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key.

n nEducation

nnnHigh School Diploma , GED or equivalent business experience (required) or

n

nnBachelor's Degree (preferred)

n

n nWork Experience

nnn1+ years Experience in developing current and new customer relationships, achieving sales goals, and building referral sources. Experience with sales is more important than financial services experience. KeyBank provides the tools and training, but we need relationship builders with a curious nature who are great at sparking conversations. (required)

n

nnUnderstanding of consumer credit - including loan to value, debt to income and credit reports. (required)

n

nnFoundational knowledge of sales and service techniques with clients, including tele-consulting, outside calling, prospecting, and networking. (required)

n

nnComfortable interacting with small business clients, overcoming objection, and asking fact-finding questions with the goal of being helpful. (preferred)

n

nnDemonstrated experience with influencing business partners and leveraging centers of influence, as this role will require significant influence of partners such as Key Investment Services, Mortgage and Business Banking sales professionals. (required)

n

nnWorking knowledge of PCs (MS Windows and Office Products including Word, Excel, etc.). (required)

n

nnWorking knowledge of digital technology (mobile, apps, web-based browsing) and ability to educate clients on digital platforms and capabilities within Key (required)

n

n nLicenses and Certifications

nnNotary License (preferred)

n nSkills

nnnIs knowledgeable about the client’s accounts and business with the bank and uses sound judgment with clients and transactions.

n

nnDemonstrated ability to attain sales and referral goals through preset appointments and quality conversations leading to recommendations that support clients’ financial wellness goals, leveraging system generated lead lists, walk-ins, and professional contacts.

n

nnStrong work ethic and high level of integrity.

n

nnExcellent time management skills.

n

nnBuilding and nurturing relationships with clients including identifying potential clients, engaging with them to understand their needs, and developing strategies to convert them into long-term clients. It also includes deepening relationships with existing clients by offering additional products and services that meet their evolving needs.

n

nnBeing attentive to client needs, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring a positive banking experience. Excellent client service helps build trust and encourages clients to continue banking with KeyBank.

n

nnAbility to evaluate financial information to understand clients' financial health, identify investment opportunities, and recommend strategies.

n

nnUnderstanding and managing risks associated with banking operations and client transactions.

n

nnStrong verbal and non-verbal communication skills to understand clients' needs and recommend appropriate banking products and services.

n

nnAccurate and efficient handling of cash transactions.

n nPhysical Demands

nnConsumer Retail - Prolonged Standing (5-8 hours per day), frequent use of hands to manipulate/grasp objects, ability to communicate face to face and on the phone with clients, occasional bending and lifting from floor height, frequent forward reach, frequent lifting of 1 – 10 lbs., occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.

n nDriving Requirements

nnAbility to routinely and frequently operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license.

n nCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

nThis position is eligible to earn a base hourly rate in the range of $20.67 - $31.25 per hour. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
