nA Personal Care Assistant is an individual who provides support services to clients with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional. The Personal Care Assistant may work in a variety of settings, to include medical facilities, rehabilitation centers or in-home residential care.
nMinimum Requirements:
nnnHigh School Diploma or GED required
n
nnState licensure or certification if required by state and/orcontract
n
nnOne (1) year relevant patient/client care experiencepreferred
n
nnComplies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
n
nnCurrent CPR if applicable
n
nnTB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
n
nnCurrent Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
n
nnMust meet all federal, state and local requirements
n
nnMust be at least 18 years of age
