Job description
Pharmaceutical Sales & Training InternThe Pharmaceutical Sales & Training Intern will support the Sales and Training teams through a combination of field exposure, sales enablement, commercial operations, training support, and project-based work. This role provides a hands-on opportunity to gain experience within a pharmaceutical commercial organization while contributing to key business priorities and initiatives.The intern will work closely with members of the Sales, Training, and Marketing teams to support day-to-day execution, maintain customer engagement, analyze business information, and develop resources that enable field teams to be successful.Essential Job FunctionsSales & Field SupportSupport coverage of vacant territories through approved HCP communications, including iRep emails, targeted packages, and other appropriate customer touchpoints.Shadow pharmaceutical sales calls and customer meetings virtually and/or in person.Complete at least one field shadow day alongside a pharmaceutical sales representative to gain firsthand exposure to territory management, customer engagement, and field execution.Gather recurring field questions, customer feedback, and sales objections to identify opportunities for additional resources or training.Sales Operations & AnalyticsAssist with sales reporting and CRM activities, including data gathering, tracking, organization, and basic analysis.Support territory and account opportunity assessments as requested.Help organize and summarize business information to provide actionable insights to the Sales and Training teams.Assist with competitive and market research.Training & Sales EnablementSupport planning and execution of the Summer Regional Execution Meeting, including materials, logistics, communications, and follow-up.Assist with in-person training programs, including materials preparation, attendee coordination, room setup, and post-training follow-up.Support development and organization of sales enablement resources.Help maintain organized, accessible training and sales materials for field teams.Summer Capstone ProjectThe intern will complete a defined capstone project addressing a current Sales or Training business need. Working with guidance from team members, the intern will own the project from initial research and analysis through final presentation.Potential project areas may include:Sales or training data analysisTerritory or account opportunity assessmentTraining effectiveness or feedback analysisCompetitive or market landscape assessmentLearning & Development OpportunitiesPharmaceutical sales and field executionCustomer and HCP engagementSales operations and CRM processesCommercial analytics and market researchSales training and enablementCross-functional collaborationMeeting and event planningProject management and executive presentation skillsSkills and QualificationsCurrently pursuing a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, life sciences, healthcare, communications, or a related field.Strong interest in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences industry.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.Comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.Working ConditionsPosition may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations. Periodic overnight travel.This role is based in Xeris' Chicago office and requires five days per week in the office. On-site requirement may change at management's discretion.The anticipated hourly wage for this position is $22.50- $29.00.We are committed to offering competitive compensation. Starting pay is determined based on a variety of factors, including the role, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education, internal equity, market data, and the location of the role, where applicable.
