Pharmacist (Long-Term Care Pharmacy)Make a Difference Through Safe, Accurate Medication Care

nWe're seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join our long-term care pharmacy team and play a critical role in ensuring residents receive safe, accurate, and timely medication services. In this position, you'll combine your clinical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and leadership skills to support patient care, oversee pharmacy operations, and collaborate with healthcare professionals in a fast-paced environment.

nWhat You'll DoPharmacy Operations & Clinical Oversight

nnnVerify and review new and refill prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness prior to dispensing

n

nnEnsure safe and accurate medication dispensing, packaging, and labeling

n

nnInterpret and evaluate potential drug-drug, drug-disease, drug-food interactions, and allergy concerns

n

nnOversee the preparation and verification of sterile IV medications and solutions

n

nnManage daily pharmacy workflow while meeting production goals and turnaround expectations

n

nnMonitor workflow dashboards and ensure outstanding tasks are resolved promptly

n

n nCompliance & Quality Assurance

nnnMaintain compliance with all state, federal, DEA, HIPAA, and pharmacy regulations

n

nnSupport controlled substance management, including proper ordering, receiving, storage, documentation, and inventory controls

n

nnEnsure adherence to third-party payer requirements and pharmacy policies

n

nnPromote medication safety and quality assurance initiatives throughout the department

n

n nLeadership & Team Development

nnnSupervise and support pharmacy production staff

n

nnProvide coaching, feedback, and performance development opportunities

n

nnFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

n

nnPartner with pharmacy leadership to strengthen team performance and talent development

n

n nCollaboration & Customer Service

nnnServe as a trusted clinical resource for pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals

n

nnCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams to resolve medication-related concerns

n

nnSupport emergency and routine medication needs for long-term care residents

n

nnParticipate in on-call and operational coverage as needed

n

n nWhat We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications

nnnBachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy

n

nnActive Pharmacist license in good standing

n

nnStrong understanding of pharmacy regulations and medication safety practices

n

nnExcellent clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities

n

nnStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

n

nnEffective verbal and written communication skills

n

nnAbility to work independently while contributing to a team environment

n

nnProficiency with pharmacy software systems and workflow technology

n

nnFlexibility to support evening, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed

n

n nPreferred Qualifications

nnnDoctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)

n

nnPrevious long-term care pharmacy experience

n

nnExperience handling controlled substances and DEA compliance requirements

n

nnPrior experience supervising or mentoring pharmacy team members

n

nnAbility to thrive in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment

n

n nSchedule

nPrimary Schedule:

nnnMonday through Friday

n

nnEvening shift: approximately 3:30 PM 12:00 AM

n

n nAdditional Coverage:

nnnEvery other weekend: approximately 7:00 AM 6:00 PM

n

nnRotating on-call, holiday, and overtime coverage as needed

nThis is a Contract position based out of Berlin, CT.

nPay and Benefits

nThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.

nIndividual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

nEligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
