Job description
A Florida-licensed pharmacist is needed to support a small Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital in Sarasota, FL. This vital role involves serving as the only full-time pharmacist on-site, carrying the responsibility of Pharmacist in Charge (PIC). It's an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional who can start promptly and lead pharmacy operations independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards.
Manage all pharmacy operations including medication dispensing and inventory control.
Provide expert pharmaceutical care to patients and collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy.
Ensure accurate prescription review, verification, and counseling.
Maintain documentation and reporting requirements consistent with state and federal laws.
Support medication safety and quality initiatives within the facility.
Qualifications: Active Florida Pharmacist license.
Experience as a pharmacist managing pharmacy operations in a hospital setting, ideally in LTAC environments.
Proven ability to take independent charge and lead pharmacy services.
Strong knowledge of pharmacy law, regulations, and best practices.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work efficiently with limited on-site pharmacist support.
Location: Sarasota, Florida (small LTAC hospital setting).
Type: Contract position with an immediate start preferred.
