Job description
This opportunity is for a part-time Long Term Care Pharmacist to provide essential support to skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care. Working approximately 24 hours per week during Monday through Friday pharmacy hours (8:00 AM - 6:00 PM), you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and safety of medication dispensing and answering clinical queries.
Responsibilities:
Review and verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for various care facilities.
Check blister-packed medications as well as sterile and non-sterile preparations.
Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing expert clinical guidance.
Count and document controlled substances in the perpetual inventory.
Inspect emergency medication boxes to maintain readiness and compliance.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
Current Pennsylvania pharmacist license in good standing.
Minimum 1 year of pharmacist experience, with Long Term Care experience preferred.
Physical ability to perform job duties, including sitting, standing, fine motor skills, visual acuity, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with pharmacy operating systems such as QS1, Docutrack, and PCC.
