Job description
A critical access hospital with an 18-bed skilled nursing facility in Ekron, KY, is seeking a dedicated pharmacist to support their pharmacy operations. This contract opportunity offers a Monday through Friday schedule, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, perfect for professionals seeking a structured weekday routine. The assignment starts by October 12 and runs for approximately 13 weeks with the potential to transition to permanent employment.
This role requires a licensed pharmacist in Kentucky who has experience working in a hospital setting. Familiarity with Cerner and MedDispense pharmacy systems is essential for seamlessly managing medication orders and documentation. The pharmacist will be responsible for order verifications, consulting with physicians and nursing staff, ensuring safe medication use, and contributing to exceptional patient care within a 25-bed critical access hospital and attached SNF environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness
Collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize pharmacotherapy
Use Cerner and MedDispense systems for medication dispensing and records
Monitor patient outcomes and provide clinical support as needed
Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current Kentucky pharmacist license
Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting preferred
Proficiency with Cerner and MedDispense IT systems
Strong communication and consultative skills
Schedule: Monday to Friday
7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
