Job description
A night pharmacist opportunity is available in Chicago, offering a focused role within a hospital setting. This 13+ week contract position provides a consistent 7-on, 7-off schedule, working nights from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM, ideal for professionals seeking a balanced work-life routine.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify medication orders ensuring accuracy and safety.
Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient operations.
Collaborate and consult with physicians and nursing staff on medication management.
Apply pharmacokinetic principles to optimize patient therapy.
Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for medication administration and record-keeping.
Qualifications and Experience: Active Illinois pharmacist license.
Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
Comfortable and capable of working night shifts.
Strong understanding of clinical pharmacy practices and technology.
Location: Position based in Evanston, Illinois, with accessibility to Chicago-area medical facilities.
This role is contract-based, starting as soon as possible, providing an excellent chance for experienced hospital pharmacists to contribute their expertise during night hours. The schedule is stable with 7 consecutive nights on duty followed by 7 days off, supporting work-life balance.
