JOB SUMMARY
Bradley Medical Center, LLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacist Extern (PRN) to assist our pharmacy team with various tasks under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This position provides valuable hands-on experience in a clinical pharmacy setting.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including sterile compounding and repackaging, in accordance with established procedures and regulations.
Process medication orders accurately and efficiently, including entering prescriptions into the pharmacy system and generating labels.
Maintain accurate inventory records, assist with ordering and receiving medications, and manage expired or recalled drugs.
Provide basic patient education under pharmacist supervision regarding medication usage, storage, and potential side effects.
Answer telephone inquiries, direct calls appropriately, and provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
Perform administrative tasks as assigned, such as filing, record-keeping, and data entry.
Participate in pharmacy quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program.
Possession of a current and valid Pharmacist Extern permit/license as required by the state of practice.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Proficiency in basic computer applications and willingness to learn pharmacy-specific software.
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform other physical demands of the position.
Prior pharmacy experience (e.g., pharmacy technician, volunteer) preferred but not required.
