Job description
A hospital pharmacy opportunity is available in Fairbanks, AK, for a licensed pharmacist on a 26-week contract starting 10/12. This role offers variable 8-hour shifts with start times ranging from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, including weekends. Typically, an 11:00 AM shift will not be followed by a 7:00 AM shift, providing a balanced schedule.
Schedule/Hours:
8-hour shifts with start times at 07:00, 08:00, 09:00, 10:00, or 11:00 AM
Variable days of the week, including weekends
Holiday shifts as needed, usually shorter (4-5 hours)
Key Responsibilities: Accurately verify and dispense hospital pharmacy orders
Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards
Collaborate with healthcare team to optimize patient medication therapy
Maintain accurate records and documentation consistent with hospital policies
Qualifications: At least 1 year of experience as a pharmacist in a hospital setting
Proficient in handling standard hospital pharmacy orders and product verification
AK Pharmacist license is required; temporary AK license is acceptable with a commitment to apply for the full license within 24 hours of acceptance
Preferred Experience: Familiarity with Cerner pharmacy systems
