Job description
To ensure the delivery of competent, high quality clinical care in a caring compassionate environment.
n• Answers routine questions.
n• Takes accurate messages.
n• Operation of telephone.
n• Handles routine questions on department operations.
n• Receives complaints and aware of how to initiate protocol.
n• Demonstrates effective communication skills.
n• Orientation to hospital campus and ability to provide accurate directions.
n• Demonstrates written and oral communication skills.
n• Attentive to details.
n• Plans, organizes, gathers and assembles data.
n• Demonstrates knowledge of common formats for correspondence and reposts.
n• Use of department specific equipment.
n• Accurately opens, sorts, and routes mail.
n• Monitors inventory and orders supplies.
n• Processes Outpatient prescriptions accurately and in a timely manner.
n• Completes Inpatient orders accurately and in a timely manner.
n• Educates customers with pertinent information applicable to orders, prescriptions, and administration of medications.
n• Manages inventory well.
n• Sustains adequate inventory of controlled and non-controlled drugs.
n• Provides accurate and timely OTC consults to customers.
n• Documents drug transactions accurately.
n• Demonstrates accountability and responsibility with Pharmacy equipment and software.
n• Operates Pyxis system correctly per pharmacy procedure.
n• Oversees third party reimbursement and coverage for Outpatient prescriptions consistent with insurances, regulatory agencies and hospital policy.
nRequired Skills
nMinimum Education:
n• Must be a graduate from an approved school of pharmacy.
nRequired Licenses: Pharmacists
n• Must be licensed by the state of Kentucky as a pharmacist.
n• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide care according to licensure requirements.
nRequired Experience
nMinimum Work Experience:
n• One year working experience in clinical setting as a pharmacist.
