Job description
A PRN Pharmacist position is available to support pharmacy operations at an Indian Health Clinic. Working under the direct supervision of the Chief Health Officer, this role plays a vital part in delivering safe and effective patient care through comprehensive pharmacy services.
Responsibilities:
Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, safety, and dosing
Prepare and dispense medications in compliance with regulatory and quality standards
Verify proper filling of MedBoxes
Counsel patients regarding medication use, potential side effects, and interactions
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, on treatment plans
Perform medication reconciliation to maintain accurate medication histories
Manage medication therapy for patients with chronic conditions
Monitor for drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications
Supervise pharmacy technicians in prescription filling, inventory management, and operational tasks
Maintain precise patient records and documentation
Ensure strict adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
Qualifications and Desired Experience: Licensed Pharmacist with active registration to practice
Experience working in a clinical or community pharmacy setting
Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices
Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
Ability to lead and supervise pharmacy support staff effectively
Location: Hialeah, FL
Additional Information: Dress code allows for scrubs or business casual attire (excluding all black)
