nThe Pharmacist In Charge will ensure the adherence of the pharmacy procedures and SOPs. In accordance with company laws, state and federal regulations. The Pharmacist In Charge will ensure regulations are correct and safe supply of medical products to the client facilities, under the general supervision of the Regional Director of Pharmacy.
nResponsibilities
nnnSupervise all pharmacy staff to ensure efficient daily operations
n
nnUphold compliance with all applicable state and federal pharmacy regulations
n
nnSupport training and onboarding of new staff
n
nnImplement new policies, procedures and monitor their effectiveness across the team
n
nnDevelop and maintain staffing schedules for pharmacists and technicians based on operational needs
n
nnEvaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions and proper administration
n
nnOversee dispensed medications are correctly supplied and labeled
n
nnSupervise the preparation of any medicines
n
nnMake recommendations for therapy changes to the physician and client facilities staff, if necessary
n
nnMaintain customers’ database including but not limited to medical history, clinical, laboratory data, etc.
n
nnInvestigate and resolve medication related queries
n
nnCommunicate with facilities’ nursing staff, physicians and other healthcare team members regarding medication-related queries
n
nnMaintain a register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control purposes
n
nnMaintain proper security conditions for medications
n
nnPerform “on-call” duties when required
n
n nQualifications
nnnLicensed Pharmacist in the State of Texas
n
nn5-10 years of experience in Hospital and Retail pharmacy or other medical fields
n
nnLong Term Care experience preferred
n
nnStrong analytical and critical thinking skills
n
nnExcellent written and verbal communication skills
n
nnStrong attention to detail
n
nnStrong organizational skills
n
nnComputer skills
n
nnFramework / ECM software knowledge a plus
n
