Job description
An interim Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) opportunity is available within a 340B pharmacy setting, requiring onsite presence in either California or New York to address emergency staffing needs. This role offers a contract duration of 3 to 6 months with day and afternoon shifts.
Responsibilities:
Assume full Pharmacist in Charge duties, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Oversee pharmacy operations and staff to maintain high-quality service.
Manage inventory, medication dispensing, and record-keeping in accordance with 340B program standards.
Collaborate with healthcare providers and support teams to optimize patient care.
Facilitate smooth transitions during emergency PIC coverage situations.
Desired Experience and Qualifications: Active pharmacist licenses in several of the following states: AK, AL, AR, CA, IA, ID, IL, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, MS, NE, NV, OK, OR, TN, TX, VA, and WV. Licenses in California and New York are essential.
Previous experience serving as a Pharmacist in Charge, preferably within a 340B pharmacy.
Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and 340B program requirements.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Flexibility to work onsite in either California or New York based on emergency needs.
Location: Onsite in California or New York (travel costs covered for non-local candidates).
This contract role offers a competitive hourly pay rate in the range of $65-$70, negotiable based on experience and qualifications. The position requires readiness to step into critical leadership roles within multiple states, with an emphasis on flexibility and multi-state licensure.
