Job description
A leadership opportunity is available for a pharmacist to serve as Pharmacist in Charge at a retail pharmacy location in Prophetstown, IL. This contract-to-hire role offers the chance to manage pharmacy operations and ensure adherence to regulations while fostering a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff. Candidate flexibility is welcomed, including those willing to travel temporarily as the company searches for a local candidate.
Location: Prophetstown, IL
Schedule/Hours:
Monday - Friday
9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Software System: McKesson Enterprise
Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations
Supervise, train, and manage pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to maintain high standards
Review and verify prescription orders, ensuring accuracy for patient safety
Manage medication inventory, controlled substances, and maintain thorough pharmacy documentation
Develop and enforce pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality assurance protocols
Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve medication-related issues and improve patient outcomes
Maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant workflow within the pharmacy
Qualifications: Active and clear Illinois pharmacist license
Some prior experience in pharmacy management or as a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)
