A specialty pharmacy organization is seeking a skilled Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead the launch of a new closed-door pharmacy in Lancaster, PA. This role offers a unique leadership opportunity to guide pharmacy operations from licensing through full operational launch.

Role Overview:
As Pharmacist-in-Charge, you will be responsible for pharmacy licensure, regulatory compliance, and preparing the facility for the Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy inspection. Once operational (target launch October 2026), a licensed pharmacist must be physically present on-site full-time, as mandated by state regulation. Candidates should understand and commit to this requirement.
Two recruitment tracks are available:
Track 1 - Remote PIC (Licensing & Startup): Work remotely during licensing and startup phases, assist with DEA registration, SOP development, and be on-site for the Board inspection. Potential to relocate and transition into the full-time on-site role.
Track 2 - Permanent On-Site PIC: Full-time, on-site PIC starting at or before pharmacy launch. Relocation assistance available.
Key Responsibilities: Serve as PIC for Pennsylvania pharmacy licensure and ongoing compliance
Lead pharmacy licensing, regulatory submissions, and Board inspection readiness
Develop and maintain SOPs and pharmacy policies
Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations, including DEA
Support operational workflow design and quality systems
Oversee pharmacy dispensing accuracy, safety, and regulatory adherence post-launch
Maintain audit readiness and act as liaison during inspections
Collaborate with leadership to support pharmacy launch and growth efforts
Qualifications: Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist license (required)
Prior PIC or pharmacy leadership experience preferred
Thorough knowledge of pharmacy operations, compliance, and regulatory standards
Experience in specialty, mail order, compounding, or closed-door pharmacy preferred
Proven ability managing audits, inspections, or startup environments
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
