nWhat's This Job All About?

nThe Pharmacist in Charge is responsible for guiding practices to adhere to state and federal regulations. This individual will claim accountability for the performance and advancement of quality and compliance initiatives, and will work to develop progressive strategies to continuously improve safety and service beyond traditional expectations.

nThe Pharmacist in Charge will ensure all fellow team members are properly credentialed and trained to fulfill a commitment to excellence. The Pharmacist in Charge is involved with and accountable for day-to-day operations of their pharmacy, and is primarily physically located at that pharmacy.

nKey job responsibilities

nStay informed of local, state, and federal laws related to pharmacy practices, including changes or developments and their impact on Amazon Pharmacy and its customers

nCoordinate with the corporate legal team to maintain licensure of the pharmacy and its staff with various state pharmacy boards

nContinuously monitor licensure requirements

nAlign policies and initiatives with requirements and demands of accrediting/licensing bodies, including but not limited to: Board of Pharmacy (BOP), National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), URAC, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), United States Pharmacopeia (USP)

nServe as a liaison between Amazon Pharmacy and the Board of Pharmacy and attend the State's Pharmacy Board Meetings

nMonitor and audit transactions within the pharmacy to maintain control of pharmaceutical materials and guarantee adherence thereof with applicable state and federal laws

nEducate pharmacy staff on policies, reporting guidelines, and expectations as they relate to best quality practices

nProvide insight into new and ongoing projects and efforts

nDrive quality efforts throughout the fulfillment center facility and partner with operations management to review processes regularly to ensure regulatory compliance and embrace continuous quality improvements

nMaintain and report all records for the dispensing of controlled substances to each state when required

nReview escalated issues for resolution. Interface with clients and team members as needed to resolve

nEnsure the pharmacy and its practices adhere to all regulatory requirements

nProvide clinical oversight for the pharmacy and serve as an escalation pathway for clinical escalations

nBasic Qualifications

nnn1+ years of Staff Pharmacist within Amazon, or 3+ years of Pharmacist in Charge experience

n

nnBachelor's degree in Science, or Doctor of Pharmacy in PharmD, or Doctor of Pharmacy

n

nnan active and unrestricted Pharmacist License in your domicile state

n

nnCan have an active and unrestricted Pharmacist License in all states requiring Non-resident PIC (Pharmacist in Charge) license, or be willing to obtain within first 6 months in role

n

nnBachelor's degree in PharmD, or Doctor of Pharmacy

n

nnCan have an active and unrestricted pharmacist license in your state of employment (additional licenses may be required)

n

nnActive and unrestricted Pharmacist License in all states requiring Non-resident PIC license, or willingness to obtain within first 6 months in role

n

nn1 year Staff Pharmacist experience within Amazon Pharmacy or three or more years Pharmacist in Charge experience

n

n nPreferred Qualifications

nnn3+ years of Pharmacist in Charge experience

n

nnKnowledge of pharmacy laws and federal/state regulations concerning patient care

n

nnThree or more years Pharmacist Preceptor experience

n

nnExtensive experience developing and managing pharmacy fulfillment center workflows

n

nnKnowledge of facility inspection and licensing process in domicile state

n

nnKnowledge of facility inspection and licensing process in Non-Resident states

n

nnExperience recruiting, interviewing, and hiring Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Pharmacy Interns

n

nnExperience communicating with and presenting to Boards of Pharmacy and other regulatory bodies

n

nnWillingness to work varying schedules

n

nnExperience managing high-volume, highly-automated pharmacies

n

nnExperience managing 30+ employees (including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Pharmacy Interns)

nThe base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
