Job description
A healthcare facility in Portsmouth, VA, is seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist for a 13-week contract starting June 29. This role requires a confident professional to support patient care through precise medication management and collaboration with clinical staff.

Rotating shifts including: Day shifts: , , ,
Evening shifts: ,
Overnight shifts: ,
Responsibilities: Verify and process medication orders accurately
Manage IV medications, pain-controlled analgesia, and antibiotic therapies
Monitor for drug interactions and ensure patient safety
Participate in order entry within the EPIC electronic medical record system
Apply clinical knowledge in pharmacokinetics and renal dosing, with additional opportunities to work with chemotherapy and anticoagulant management
Qualifications / Desired Experience: Valid Virginia pharmacist license at the time of application (required)
Minimum of 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience
EPIC charting experience (mandatory)
Proficiency in IV medication management, pain control, antibiotics, and drug interaction identification
Experience with chemotherapy, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing preferred
Prior travel pharmacy experience is a plus
