Job description
A pharmacist opportunity is available for a contract assignment in Southwest Virginia. This role is ideal for a licensed pharmacist with experience in medication dispensing and patient care within a pharmacy setting. The position requires delivering high-quality pharmaceutical services to support community health and ensure accurate medication management.
Location:
Southwest Virginia (Stuarts Draft area)
Responsibilities: Accurately dispense prescription medications following legal, ethical, and safety guidelines
Counsel patients on proper medication use, side effects, and interactions
Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapies
Maintain thorough and up-to-date patient records and pharmacy documentation
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to maintain stock
Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations
Qualifications / Desired Experience: Valid pharmacist license in Virginia or eligibility to obtain licensure
Proven experience working as a pharmacist, ideally in community or retail pharmacy
Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, medication therapies, and pharmacy laws
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
