Job description
A Pharmacist is needed for a small Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital with a patient census of approximately 10 per day. This contract role offers an opportunity to work Monday through Friday during the day shift, with an immediate start and a duration of 13 weeks or longer.
Location:
Madison Heights, VA
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Day shift
Responsibilities: Prepare and dispense medications accurately for LTAC patients
Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care
Manage medication inventories and compliance with regulatory standards
Monitor patient medication therapies for efficacy and safety
Provide drug information and counseling to healthcare providers and patients
Qualifications: Valid Virginia Pharmacist license is required
Some hospital pharmacy experience preferred, particularly in an acute or LTAC setting
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a healthcare team
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced hospital environment
