nPosition Summary:

nThis role is responsible for the efficient, ethical and lawful compounding and dispensing of prescription pharmaceuticals. Advises customers on the use and storage of prescription and non prescription drugs. Orders and maintains supply of pharmaceutical stock. Oversee pharmacy technicians as needed.

nThe Pharmacy is open M-F 9-7, Sat 9-3 and closed on major Holidays!

nHere’s what you’ll do:

nnnReceive prescription and refill requests from customers and/or clinics and fill prescriptions requests efficiently and accurately and in a professional and courteous manner.

n

nnDispense medications as prescribed; oversee and ensure accurate retrieving, counting, pouring, weighing, mixing, packaging and/or labeling of products.

n

nnProvide medication counsel and advise customers on both prescription and over-the-counter medications regarding use, dosage, drug interactions/side effects, storage, etc.

n

nnResponsible to order, stock, check inventory, and perform cycle counts in the pharmacy, for both prescription and over-the-counter items and maintain familiarity of department products.

n

nnReview and validate received orders for amount, quality, count or weight, condition and ensure all products are stored in appropriate areas.

n

nnEnsure all out dated/damaged products are handled per established guidelines.

n

nnMaintain Pharmacy records to include, but not limited to, customer profiles, insurance forms, pharmacy record/POS systems, inventories, control records and registries (i.e., poisons, narcotics, controlled substances, etc.)

n

nnLead and/or oversee pharmacy technicians and/or pharmacy interns as needed to ensure efficient and accurate service is provided.

n

nnCommunicate with the Pharmacy Manager about any potential concerns.

n

nnMaintain a clean and well-stocked department; ensure the department complies with Company standards.

n

nnMaintain and implement pharmacy programs (i.e. security measures, immunizations and other clinical programs) accordingly.

n

nnMay be responsible to provide clinical care services as assigned.

n

nnMaintain current knowledge of legal regulations, industry trends and best Pharmacy practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes and to ensure company legal compliance/ Comply with all applicable federal and state regulations.

n

nnUnderstand and communicate Company service and loyalty programs and model high standards of service to achieve a customer oriented store.

n

nnAdditional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

n nHere’s what you’ll need:

nnnBachelor's Degree (Required) in Pharmacy or related field required. Doctorate degree in Pharmacy preferred.

n

nnThree years experience in pharmaceutical department.

n

nnPharmacy License (in good standing) required in the state of operation.

n

nnImmunization Certification preferred.

n

nnStrong knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules, pharmacy laws, rules, and guidelines.

n

nnStrong written and verbal communication skills; strong customer service skills, Strong multi-tasking, organization, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

n

nnGood leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment.

n

nnSuccessfully completes required continuing education hours and maintains Pharmacy License in good standing.

n

nnWorking knowledge of perpetual inventory procedures.

n

nnProficient in Word and Excel.

n

nnBilingual skills helpful based on demographic region.

n nPhysical Requirements:

nMay be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate is required to stand and walk for extended periods of time and may bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures) and is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
