Pharmacist (Long-Term Care Pharmacy)
We're seeking a dedicated pharmacist to join our long-term care pharmacy team and play a critical role in ensuring residents receive safe, accurate, and timely medication services. In this position, you'll combine your clinical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and leadership skills to support patient care, oversee pharmacy operations, and collaborate with healthcare professionals in a fast-paced environment.

Pharmacy Operations & Clinical Oversight
Verify and review new and refill prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness prior to dispensing
Ensure safe and accurate medication dispensing, packaging, and labeling
Interpret and evaluate potential drug-drug, drug-disease, drug-food interactions, and allergy concerns
Oversee the preparation and verification of sterile IV medications and solutions
Manage daily pharmacy workflow while meeting production goals and turnaround expectations
Monitor workflow dashboards and ensure outstanding tasks are resolved promptly
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Maintain compliance with all state, federal, DEA, HIPAA, and pharmacy regulations
Support controlled substance management, including proper ordering, receiving, storage, documentation, and inventory controls
Ensure adherence to third-party payer requirements and pharmacy policies
Promote medication safety and quality assurance initiatives throughout the department
Leadership & Team Development
Supervise and support pharmacy production staff
Provide coaching, feedback, and performance development opportunities
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Partner with pharmacy leadership to strengthen team performance and talent development
Collaboration & Customer Service
Serve as a trusted clinical resource for pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to resolve medication-related concerns
Support emergency and routine medication needs for long-term care residents
Participate in on-call and operational coverage as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy
Active pharmacist license in good standing
Strong understanding of pharmacy regulations and medication safety practices
Excellent clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
Proficiency with pharmacy software systems and workflow technology
Flexibility to support evening, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
Previous long-term care pharmacy experience
Experience handling controlled substances and DEA compliance requirements
Prior experience supervising or mentoring pharmacy team members
Ability to thrive in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
Schedule
Primary Schedule:
Monday through Friday
Evening shift: approximately 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM
Additional Coverage:
Every other weekend: approximately 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Rotating on-call, holiday, and overtime coverage as needed

Job Type & Location:
This is a contract position based out of Berlin, CT.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
