nPosition Summary
nAt Stony Brook Medicine, a TH Pharmacist is a valuable member of our team, who provides clinical services to our patient population; responsible for reviewing, interpreting, and clarifying orders as well as preparing and dispensing medication orders. Practices in a manner that will ensure mediation safety. Qualified candidates will demonstrate superior communication and organizational skills while adhering to our high standard of excellence.
nDuties of a TH Pharmacist may include but are not limited to the following:
nnnAccurately verify medication orders and when necessary, enter them onto electronic medical record.
n
nnReview prescriber orders for proper dosage, allergies, drug interactions and legibility where applicable.
n
nnSupervise Pharmacy Assistants.
n
nnProvide a double check for all technician-prepared medication doses and for pharmacist-prepared doses when required.
n
nnPrepare IV admixtures and other sterile admixtures, including cytotoxic and other hazardous agents.
n
nnProvide drug information to patients and to other professionals as requested.
n
n nThis is a temporary opportunity that may end at any time.
nQualifications
nRequired: BS in Pharmacy or a PharmD degree. New York State Pharmacy License. Current NY State Pharmacist Registration.
nPreferred: Working knowledge of pharmacy dispensing systems and sterile compounding, including cytotoxic and other hazardous agents.

nPosting Overview : This position will remain posted until filled or for a maximum of 90 days. An initial review of all applicants will occur two weeks from the posting date. nnAll Hospital positions maybe subject to changes in pass days and shifts as necessary.

nnThis position may require the wearing of respiratory protection, which may prohibit the wearing of facial hair.

nnThis function/position maybe designated as “essential.” This means that when the Hospital is faced with an institutional emergency, employees in such positions may be required to remain at their work location or to report to work to protect, recover, and continue operations at Stony Brook Medicine, Stony Brook University Hospital and related facilities.

n nPrior to start date, the selected candidate must meet the following requirements:
nnSuccessfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services
n nnnnComplete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.

n nnSuccessfully complete a 4 panel drug screen
n nnnnMeet Regulatory Requirements for pre employment screenings.
n n
n nnProvide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
n nFailure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.
n*The hiring department will be responsible for any fee incurred for examination .

nAnticipated Pay Range:
nThe starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $67.00 - $70.00 / Hour.
nThe above salary range represents SBUH’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate’s validated years of comparable experience. Any efforts to inflate or misrepresent experience are grounds for disqualification from the application process or termination of employment if hired.
