Job description
An inpatient pharmacist opportunity is available to support a facility navigating a management transition. This position requires a pharmacist with strong clinical skills and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
Location:
Portsmouth, VA area
Contract Duration: 13 weeks, starting Monday, August 24
Shift Options: Day Shifts: 6:30 AM-3:00 PM, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM, 9:00 AM-5:30 PM, 10:00 AM-6:30 PM
Evening Shifts: 1:00 PM-9:30 PM, 2:30 PM-11:00 PM
Overnight Shifts: 7:30 PM-7:30 AM, 8:30 PM-7:30 AM
Key Responsibilities: Verify medication orders and ensure accuracy in order entry
Manage drug interactions, antibiotic regimens, and pain-controlled analgesia
Provide clinical support including pharmacokinetic and renal dosing (preferred)
Handle handling of chemotherapy, anticoagulants, and related therapies (preferred)
Utilize EPIC electronic medical records for charting and documentation
Required Qualifications: Virginia pharmacist license in hand at time of application (mandatory)
Minimum 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience
Familiarity with IV medication preparation and administration
Proficiency with EPIC EMR system (mandatory)
Previous travel pharmacy experience is a plus
