nSTAR Long Term Care Pharmacy is a closed door pharmacy located in Sacramento, CA. We currently service Skilled nursing facilities. We are seeking an energetic pharmacist to join our team. RPH must have experience in LTC Pharmacy. We are looking for a Pharmacist with a flexible schedule and whom is eager to work in a small family environment. nResponsibilities:
nOversee the accurate preparation of medications for final dispensing to the patient, including order entry, filling, and toting.
nReview filled blister cards and unit dose strips to ensure prescriptions are filled correctly.
nVerify the legality and pharmaceutical feasibility of dispensing a drug based on patients' allergies, drug interactions, frequency of refills, etc.
nInterpret prescription orders and exercise professional judgment in determining whether to dispense a particular prescription.
nTransfer prescriptions to and from other pharmacies as needed.
nAnswer questions from patients, doctors, nurses, etc.
nOversee technicians in Compounding IV's.
nDose IV medications per patient specific data.
nRequirements: Must be licensed and in good standing in the state of CA
nExcellent Computer skills
nExcellent oral and written communication skills
nExcellent customer service skills
nAbility to problem solve, make decisions in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines
nSoftware experience preferred yet not required (Framework, DocuTrack)
nPrior pharmacy experience preferred
